Protective Guard Rails

GUARD RAILS

KeyWatchers installed in back of house areas where large carts are common should have rails to protect them. Take note that bollards are not as effective and should therefore be avoided.

Specifications:

  • The corners should be angled (not 90 degrees) to deflect an object, so as to not stop it.
  • The height of the top of the rails must be at least 4 inches lower than the bottom of the lower control console, so that it does not interfere with users placing their fingers on the reader and for servicing the unit as well.
  • The outer edge of the rail only needs to protrude about 1/2" from outer edge of control console.
