Key Control and Management Solutions
-- ARIZONA, NEVADA AND NEW MEXICO INQUIRIES ONLY PLEASE --
Morse Watchman is the largest supplier of electronic key control systems in the world. The KeyWatcher and KeyBank electronic key management systems are your answer to secure key control, providing complete key reports and audit trails. Control access to physical keys, access/credit cards, laptops, tablets, smart devices and much more with the versatile KeyWatcher. This electronic key control system is being used by corporate America, correctional institutions, hotels, hospitals, universities and casinos throughout the world.
The KeyWatcher and KeyBank systems are identical with exception to one feature. The KeyWatcher has locking locations. The KeyBank has non-locking locations, and therefore is less secure and available for a substantial lessor price. With the KeyWatcher, when the door is open, only the key set(s) that were requested and determined authorized can be removed. All other sets are locked in place. With the KeyBank system none of the key sets are locked in place. Therefore, even users that are not supposed to have access to a key set can still remove it. However, a record of authorized and unauthorized key set removals will be created.
Removing key sets from the KeyWatcher is as simple as a user entering their User ID and PIN, or as sophisticated as requiring 1 to 3 users to login in using an access card, fingerprint reader or hand reader. You have peace of mind in knowing that the door does NOT open until an authorized user(s) logins in and the user(s) has access to the pre-selected key set(s). Multiple Sets only require a single login for each authorized user. The KeyWatcher automatically records this information in a database to provide you with a complete and indisputable audit key report trail. Unauthorized access can trigger alarms locally and centrally.
The Morse access control and audit tracking key management systems offers tight security, eliminates manual log errors, cuts down on the number of times you might need to re-key or that people unintentionally take home keys, and frees up manpower for other important duties! For high-volume key users requiring efficient, secure key storage and complete, real-time accountability the KeyWatcher and KeyBank systems make tracking large quantities of keys — manageable.

The KeyWatcher and KeyBank are capable of generating numerous alarms that emanate from the KeyWatcher and KeyBank systems and software. Of these alarms the following can be wired to a remote location in the facility using the optional alarm relay outputs.
- An invalid User Code is entered three times consecutively
(systems go into an automatic alert mode and lock down for four minutes) - The door is left open for too long
- A key is missing or not returned on time
- There is a power failure
- A key is returned by the wrong user
- A user forces the cabinet doors open
- A user forcefully removes a Smart Key
The KEY to SMART SECURITY
Smart Keys – Secure. Functional. Intelligence.
Keys are secured to a Smart Key via a locking steel ring. Identification chips, provide additional security and functionality for the key management systems. When a Smart Key is inserted into a key slot within a KeyWatcher or KeyBank cabinet, the chip data is read and then recorded after a key is properly accessed or returned. Users can only access keys from the cabinets with a proper User Code, as designated by the system administrator. Users can be restricted to only have access to keys in which they are allowed.
Smart Keys help to make the KeyWatcher and KeyBank easy-to-use key control systems. The Random Key Return feature allows users to return keys to any open location of the cabinet and the system will remember the new location for that key. This process avoids the confusion and error of misplacement of keys upon return -- a real time saver and convenience to each user.
These two key management systems are perfect as stand-alone devices or in combination with Morse Watchmans Key-Pro III Software. This software greatly enhances the capabilities of the system.
The KeyWatcher and KeyBank can work as single key management systems or can be configured with multiple cabinets to hold hundreds of keys. Designed with scalability in mind, each additional unit can be controlled by a single console and monitored by the advanced Key-Pro software. Now, it’s easy to expand as your needs grow.
Smartkeys are available in : White, Green, Blue, Red, Yellow, Black, Brown, Gray as well as combinations of these. Keys can be attached to larger Tamper-Proof key rings and then these rings to the Smartkeys.

KeyWatcher Options
Dual User Access Option
This option allows a key to be assigned as a "Dual User Key". A "Dual User Key" can only be removed in one of the following ways.
- If a Level 1 (Administrator) user with access to the key requests a "Dual User Key", it will be released. This is because a Level 1 user overrides this feature.
- If a Level 2-5 user with access to the key requests a "Dual User Key", the system will prompt for another user code. The key will only be released if a different authorized user enters their user code.
This feature is useful in cases where two people are required to be present during the key removal.
Triple User Key Access Option
This option allows a key to be assigned as a "Triple User Key". A "Triple User Key" can only be removed in one of the following ways.
- If a Level 1 (Administrator) user with access to the key requests a "Triple User Key", it will be released. This is because a Level 1 user overrides this feature.
- If a Level 2-5 user with access to the key requests a "Triple User Key", the system will prompt for another user code, and then a third user code. The key will only be released if three different authorized user enters their user codes.
Departmental Access Option
This feature is designed to operate in conjunction with either the Dual or Triple User Key Access features. When a Dual or Triple user key is requested from the KeyWatcher, a second and/or third user is required in order for the key to be released. In addition to the second and/or third user code, the system will also require the users to be assigned to different departments.
Secure Key Return
The Secure Key Return feature adds another level of security in controlling how many people are required in order to return a single, dual or triple user set of keys. This feature can be set using five different return levels on a per key basis. Each user record has a field designating their Department ID. Any violation of the secure key return rules will result in a RETURN VIOLATION alarm.
Notes Feature (“REASON WHY” A KEY SET IS REMOVED AND/OR RETURNED)
There is a tab in the database section of Keypro called “Notes”. You type in a note description and assign it a code number from 1 to 99 with up to 40 characters each. You can now specify to require and prompt a user for a “reason why note” for key removal and/or return. Additionally require a comment such as the canister number of an unscheduled drop.
EXCLUSIVE CASINO PACKAGE
- Random Key Return to eliminate pattern checking for extra security (standard) and simplifies key returns so users don't worry about returning key set(s) to a wrong location
- Remote Keypad and Display
- Triple User Access (specific key sets can require three different users to check out)
- Departmental Access (each of the triple users must be from a different department)
- Secure Key Return (controls how each key set is returned)
- Reason Why Notes for Key Removal and/or Returns (typically used for unscheduled drops)
- Group Release - Multiple key sets can be removed by group number, rather then by each key set ID, thereby automating the everyday task of asking for the same key sets.
Clear Door Option
Doors are available in durable, see-through polycarbonate.
Built-in 80 serial column printer
The KeyWatcher can be configured to print transactions in realtime to the optional built-in serial printer.
External Alarm Monitoring
Four sets of Internal relay contacts for external alarm monitoring
Dual Remote Keypad/Display
A small external keyless cabinet with an LCD and Keypad allowing you to control the KeyWatcher from another room within close proximity.
Click the "Cabinet Styles" tab above for more details.
KeyWatcher Enrollment Station
Allows for fingerprint and card enrollments to be done from a more convenient location. Enrollment data can then be transferred to other systems via the KeyPro III software.
Click the "Cabinet Styles" tab above for more details.
Select Your Preferred Login Method
Available access methods are: biometric hand reader, biometric fingerprint, magnetic card swipe, bar code, and proximity reader. Like a door to a building or room, the KeyWatcher stands by waiting for a valid signal from your preferred method of access validation

Communication Options from Software to Hardware
- Serial Comm Port Connection
A RS232 serial port is standard. Using this method the KeyWatcher is connected to a single computer. - Network via TCP/IP (This is the preferred method as it allows you to connect to multiple KeyWatchers.)
An optional Lantronix Device Serial Server is installed in the KeyWatcher to provide traditional networking abilities. It uses a Device Server for Fast Ethernet network interface. This device is a few inches square with a serial port on one end and an Ethernet RJ45 female jack on the other. The unit is powered directly by the KeyWatchers' power management board. The serial port of the Lantronix device is plugged into the internal port of the KeyWatcher and a category 5 Ethernet cable from your network is plugged into the Lantronix port. Then the supplied Lantronix Device configuration software is used to burn a static IP address into the Lantronix Device by referencing its' Mac Address. (See the links below for information on Lantronix Device Servers.) - Internal Modem
An optional internal Modem is installed into the Keywatcher. The modem is plugged into a regular phone jack, which is normally located and accessed in a knockout in the back panel of the KeyWatcher. This jack is issued its' own phone number. Then from within the Key-Pro software you simply access the configuration wizard and type in the phone number.

Smart Keys Provide Data and Convenience
Keys are secured to a Smart Key via a locking steel ring. Identification chips, provide additional security and functionality for the key management systems. When a Smart Key is inserted into a key slot within a KeyWatcher or KeyBank cabinet, the chip data is read and then recorded after a key is properly accessed or returned. Users can only access keys from the cabinets with a proper User Code, as designated by the system administrator. Users can be restricted to only have access to keys in which they are allowed.
SmartKeys are available in several different colors (black, brown, gray, red, yellow, blue, and green). This allows for keys to be organized by color, which can be useful when utilizing several KeyWatchers in a facility, or designating one group of keys from another within the system.
SmartKeys work great when used with the tamperproof KeyRings system as well. Using KeyRings with replaceable hub technology allows for a SmartKey to securely hold larger rings of keys, or larger keys like Folger Adam keys. Learn more about Morse Watchmans tamper-proof key ring system.
Smart Keys help make KeyWatcher an easy-to-use key control system. The Random Key Return feature allows users to return keys to any open location in the cabinet and the system will remember the new location for that key. This avoids confusion or misplacement error – a real time saver and convenience to each user. There is also an option available for users who prefer keys to be returned to their original location.
